How to start the Poisonous Proposal quest in DD2

The quest will become available immediately when you get to Bakbattal in any way: by completing the task "People of the Burning Flame", or illegal, whether it's a workaround or buying a beastman mask. Go to Jarle's house in the western part of the city, opposite the Mousehole Tavern, and talk to the owner.

Jarle

As soon as you enter the house, Jarle will immediately begin a dialogue, during which he will talk about the aspid poison and ask the Risen to become infected with it in order to complete his scientific research. After this, you will have to catch several more diseases, protect the scientist from the chimera and help him create a cure.

Allow yourself to be poisoned by an asp

To become infected with the first poison, you need to find purple lizards near the city and fight them. Follow to any of the suggested places on the map and look for the asp, but do not rush to engage in battle with them. At the moment, the pawns will only get in the way, as they can destroy the enemies before the Risen becomes infected, and you will have to continue wandering through the desert in search of lizards. Leave them nearby with the command "Wait!", and head to the monsters’ lair.

Asp poisoning

Don't try to attack them, defend yourself or dodge - stand still and wait for the lizards to strike. When they hit the character, he will be covered in purple slime, and the quest goal will change to "You were poisoned by an asp". After that, it will immediately switch to "Return to the Jarla while the asp's venom is in your veins".

If you are not sure that the character is still infected, go to the menu tab status and check the column ailments in the left column - all poisonings are written there.

Do not collide with pawns, especially if there is a mage in the party who can heal the Risen. Quickly get to the scientist and talk to him, after which he will immediately give out the medicine and the next assignment.

Let yourself be poisoned by a poisonous harpy

The Jarl's next request is to be infected by a poisonous harpy. Unlike ordinary birds, these birds have brighter plumage, spit poison and appear only in the afternoon. In the game world, they can be found in many places, including the outskirts of Bakbattal - head to one of the markers on the map and do not forget to leave pawns nearby so that they do not kill the enemies ahead of time.

Harpy poisoning

When the enemy knocks the character to the ground, he will spray his poison, and the Risen will turn purple. The quest status will change to "You were poisoned by a poisonous harpy", and after - on "Return to the Jarla while the harpy poison is in your veins".

Talk to the character and receive the next assignment.

Join Jarla at the meeting point

Head to the northern exit of the city, exiting the residential area, and follow the path, fighting off harpies and bandits until you reach the designated location. Talk to the researcher: this time he is not going to expose the Risen to any poison, as he wants to test it on himself, and at the same time create an antidote to the chimera toxin.

Advise survive before battle, as the researcher can rush into battle and die instantly.

Help Jarla get poisoned by the chimera's venom

After the dialogue, Yarle will immediately rush into the cave - don’t lag behind and follow him. The poison is located in the enemy’s tail, and in order to become infected with it, the scientist needs to get close to the enemy from behind.

The strategy for fighting the chimera is as follows:

Chimera
  • The boss is strong, but try not to kill him until the researcher is infected.
  • The enemy uses melee, magic and poison for attacks - do not let the scientist get close to the enemy until he raises his tail and starts spraying purple poison.
  • Do not cut off the chimera's tail, otherwise it will not be able to infect the Jarl. Better deal with other parts of the body, but do not bring the health bar to a minimum.

Here's what you need to do to successfully complete the quest:

  • Grab the scientist and run with him across the battlefield until the chimera begins to spray poison. At this point, stand under the snake and the explorer will become infected.
  • Try to fight the enemy the same way as usual, but do not touch his tail. While you are distracting the head of the lion and the goat, Yarle may be hit by a snake and poisoned.

If everything was done correctly, the chimera was not defeated prematurely, and Jarle did not die, he will make a comment about what he feels under the poison and will run out of the cave. If the character does die, revive him and continue the battle - otherwise the mission will fail.

We advise you to either immediately teleport to Bakbattal using the travel stone, or run after the scientist and make sure that he successfully gets home. In the first scenario, he will immediately end up in his shop, but if he refuses to be accompanied and continues to fight the chimera, he may die along the way.

If the man does die, find him on the way to the city or in Battal’s tomb and bring him back to life with the help of the awakening stone.

Find out how Jarle is doing

Wait 2-3 days and return to Yarla. He will share his impressions of the infection and thank you for your help - the quest will be considered completed.

Rewards

For successful assistance you will receive the following rewards:

  • Experience ×5000;
  • Gold ×19;
  • Ring of Purification - instantly neutralizes any poison.

If the scientist died or was not poisoned:

  • Experience ×5000;
  • Gold ×11.
