How to start the Miner's Grief quest in KCD 2
You can accept the side quest immediately after opening the Kutna Hora region and completing the quest. "Speak of the devil". Go to the main city and check the "Black Stallion" tavern in the evening - from about 18:00 to 24:00 you will find the foreman Vlach there, who gives out the quest.
Walkthrough of the Miner's Grief quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The banner of the St. Anthony mine has been stolen, and all suspicion falls on the competitors. All evidence leads to their rivals from the All Saints mine, but simply showing up and demanding the return of the lost item will not work. The only hope is to penetrate their hiding place in the Vlach quarter, and to do this, they will have to use an abandoned adit and an ancient underground passage.
Get into the Saints' cache
There are several ways to get into the underground club in the Vlašsky Quarter:
- Talk to the innkeeper Bykovets - If you pass the persuasion check, the owner will hand over the keys to the basement.
- Get through the basement - you can secretly climb into the same basement without keys, by breaking the lock with a master key.
- Find the underground passage - the foreman Vlah talks about it, this method will allow you not to break the law.
Talk to the innkeeper Bykovets
First, go to the tavern located in the south of the city, right under it, the dice players secretly gather. Talk to Bykovets and try to convince him that you are also going to place bets or that you know Jorg:
- I heard they play dice in the basement.
- I want to play dice.
- Jörg Pranek is waiting for me - 20 points of eloquence are enough.
- Jorg didn't pay the security money - intimidation test.
- I am a rich guest - a test of charm.
Choose the option where you scored the most points. You can put on beforehand the best clothes, wash up and pump up some perks to increase charm. If you managed to negotiate with Bykovets, you will get a reputation boost and key to the cellar of the tavern "At All Saints".
If you fail to get the bundle, you can wait until night and crawl into the basement, picking a complex lock and breaking the law. Or get to the players through a secret passage under the city.
Go inside the establishment and open the door on the first floor, located just behind the wine barrel. Go down the stairs, turn right and go under the arch into the gambling hall.

None of those present will be happy about Henry's appearance, the miners will try to immediately drive the stranger out of their hiding place, so it is worth starting a dialogue with the foreman Jorg Pranek as soon as possible.
Find the underground passage
Not the fastest, but a legal way to get into the cache is to go through Kutnohorsk dungeons, the entrance to which you will find in the south behind the wall. Get the torch and run straight through the sewers, at the first fork keep to the right side.
At the fallen beam, turn left and follow it to the dump, where you can collect some groschen, skins and some saving schnapps - the items are not considered stolen. Choose the tunnel marked with a torch and get to the stairs.
Go up a level and forward until you hit a door - pick the medium difficulty lock and duck into the front room. Inside, immediately start a conversation with Jorg, otherwise you'll run into a fight with three men.
Talk to Jorg Pranek
Choose the following dialogue options to get the information you need from Jorg without bloodshed:
- The foreman Vlach sent me.
- Vlach is a fool, I want to trip him up.
- I'm sure Yenik paid you enough.
If you pass the persuasion checks, you will learn that the merchant has already set out on his journey. If you fail, you will have to pay 200 groschen or play dice. Miners are quite strong in fistfights, and they will attack in threes at once, so it is better not to let it come to blows.
Find the merchant Yenik
Leave the Saint's Stash and head far south from Kutná Hora until you reach the quest marker - Henry will tell you about it. Follow the main road. On the left hand side you will find a bloody bag, examine the evidence and turn into the forest.
Follow the clues
The map shows the full route, following which you will collect all the clues and find the merchant's body. From the bloody bag, move deeper into the forest, examine the wreckage of the loaded cart and turn into the bushes, where you will find the cart itself.
From the trailer, go down the slope - soon you will come across a pack of wolves eating Yenik's body. The robbers abandoned the merchant in the forest without giving him a decent burial, and took all his belongings with them. You can deal with the wolves, set Barbos on them, or run away.
To get achievements "Post" you will have to fight the pack with your bare hands or try to escape.
From the top of the hill you will notice a village - its inhabitants were captured by the same bandits who stole the relic. You can help the villagers tied up in the attic and deal with all the thugs, or abandon them and take only the banner from the last house in the south. To get to the settlement, go down the slope to the river and find shallow water on the right, through which Henry, who cannot swim, can easily pass.
Deal with the bandits in Danmark
If you wish, you can skip the additional objective, leave the bandits alone and proceed to the point "Find the stolen banner" to complete the main quest.
In the attic of the nearest house you will find a tied up miller, his wife and the girl Vanka. You can talk to them first and accept a secondary task "Tragedy in Denmark", agreeing to deal with the bandits or send the surviving residents to Maleshov.
If you take only the relic and turn in the Miner's Grief quest, leaving the villagers in trouble, you will completely miss the additional task and will not be able to help the surviving people later.
Wait until night, put on inconspicuous clothes, arm yourself with a dagger and order Barbos to stay put, otherwise the dog may attack one of the thugs and expose Henry. Make a backup save and drink the potion Owlto see better in the dark.

There are eight bandits in Denchmark.. The first three bandits can be killed on the northern outskirts when they are patrolling the entrance to the village and the prisoners - even if they have to engage in combat, the rest of the gang will not hear them.
Don't leave dead bodies in plain sight: drag them far away into the bushes or throw them into the river, otherwise the thugs might make a fuss.
Among the defeated enemies, be sure to search Little Janek - the gang leader has keys to locks and doors, you can safely collect things from the chests. He will also have a golden crucifix, for which you can later get a lot of groschen.
Make your way to the southern part and find a fire, several opponents will gather around it. Wait until one of them moves away to the right, and eliminate him unnoticed. It will not be possible to take out two men at once by the fire and remain unnoticed, so you can go to the house on the left.
If you're lucky, you can eliminate another enemy on the street before he gets to the fire, increasing your chances of winning. Overall, the enemies aren't that tough, with the exception of Little Janek.
In the room on the right, two more thugs will be sleeping - one can be finished off in his sleep, the other will immediately wake up and attack Henry with his bare hands. He will have no arguments against the sword, so the battle will end quickly.
During this time, two bandits who were sitting by the fire will run into the house. You can simply stand to the left of the bed, in the corner of the room, and parry their blows, then the men will not be able to attack at the same time. Deal with the rest of the gang one by one and start searching the village.
Find the stolen banner
If you have destroyed all the bandits, it is better to hand in the quest "Tragedy in Danmark" after finding the relic, otherwise the freed prisoners will not let Henry rummage through the chests in peace and will declare him a thief.
If you don't want to deal with the thugs and save people, you can simply start looking for the banner. But then you'll have to be careful - the 8 opponents won't let the hero go without a fight.
Look into the barn located to the left of the fire and take the keys to the doors and chests from the dead servant, the bunch kept by the robber Little Janek will also do. Then go through the lower door of the building on the right.
Inside you will find three dead miller's laborers - take another key from the day laborer. Check the chest on the right and take the banner of St. Anthony, you can also appropriate some good jewelry, weapons, potions and 312 groschen. On the upper floor there is another box containing various steel for forging.
Return the miner's banner
Having obtained the desired item, return to the main city of Kutna Hora to find Vlach and give him the artifact:
- During the day, the foreman works in the northeast, near the butcher.
- In the evening he rests in the same tavern "The Black Stallion" where he gave out this quest.

In the dialogue with Vlach, Henry will have a choice:
- I found Saint Anthony, - hand over the relic, successfully complete the quest and receive 250 groschen.
- Saint Anthony has disappeared, — the task will be considered failed.
The foreman won't find out about the deception, and later you can sell the item for good money. But this action can block two further quests related to Vlah, so it's better to finish the job honestly.
