"Hunter in the Snowy Expanses" is a quest in Genshin Impact, in which you'll help Alyosha infiltrate the dungeon beneath the Pathfinder's Lodge. Together, deal with a gang of smugglers and pass through the Shadow Sphere barrier, behind which you'll discover Kresnik's Torch—an ancient furnace capable of warming the inhabitants.

How to start the quest

Walkthrough for the Snowy Hunter quest in Genshin Impact
Meet the hunter Alyosha and together find out that the smugglers from the gang elves are made in an abandoned hut in the middle of the tundra.
Follow Tugarin to the shelter
When your friend goes scouting, follow the dog and take cover behind the ice block. Wait for the cutscene to play, then fight the werewolves.
Examine the box left by the gang members.
Enter the hut and look inside the chest. Inside you'll find two items:
- A key left by a gang member - use it to open the door to the Pathfinder's Lodge.
- An unusual card that will become the Access Card to the Vault Shadow Spheres.
Go to the wall to the right of the chest and open the locked door with the key you found.
Find a way to break the ice in front of you
To melt a block:
- open the menu creatures of eternal ice on "T";
- select "Simple Heat Source" (by pressing the "3" key once on your PC);
- Place the structure close to the ice by pressing "LMB".
When the barrier melts, you will notice a hatch leading to the basement underneath it.
Continue exploring
Head down and deal with two groups of Elven bandits. First, take out the gang member with the detonator with a sniper shot, then defeat the rest.
Follow the cave further until a dialogue box is triggered.
Find a way to break the barrier
Oko Grai will inform you that the barrier can be removed using the card found at the top - at this moment you will receive Access card to the Shadow Sphere storage first level.
Open the marked barrier and enter the icy room. Inside, pick up the weapon module on the crate on the right.
Once the "Muzzle" weapon blueprint is added to the Oka Grai menu, click the "Check" button and immediately craft the module.
Find a way to clear ice from pipes
There are three large boulders in the room, next to which you need to place heat sources: two in front of the stove and one behind it. Proceed as before:
- open the Eternal Ice creation menu and select "Simple Heat Source";
- Build a structure around each ice build-up;
- wait until everything melts.
It is not necessary to install three heat sources at the same time.
You can make one and wait for the area to thaw, then pick up the warm crystal with the interaction button and approach the next frozen pipe with it.

After the final cutscene of the quest, the next task will begin - "Legacy of the Shadow Sphere".
