Bad blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — a secondary quest from the herbalist Bozena, whose daughter has disappeared without a trace. Henry will have to conduct a serious investigation, search the crime scene and find out what happened to the two lovers.
Depending on the protagonist's choices, you can reach several endings, lose many acquaintances, or achieve a truce in Troskovitsa. In the guide, we will show where to find Pavlena in the Bad Blood quest in KCD 2, how to negotiate with Oldra, and we will analyze whether it is worth killing Yakesh.
How to start the Bad Blood quest in KCD 2
You can get the quest after talking to Bozhena, the dialogue opens immediately after the story mission "Troski". Visit the herbalist living west of Zheleev and ask the question. "Did something happen?", then the grandmother will tell about the missing daughter.
You must complete the side mission before starting the main quest. "For victory", otherwise it will no longer be possible to save Pavlena.
Walkthrough of the quest Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Henry will have to collect evidence, interrogate villagers, search for secret hideouts, and make difficult moral decisions. Each action affects the development of the plot, and the final choice will determine the fate of several characters.
As soon as you receive the assignment from Bozhena, you can immediately go to your daughter and proceed to the section "Find Pavlena". This will shorten the playthrough time, but then you will miss the entire storyline.
Search Pavlena's room
After talking with the herbalist, go into the house and go up to the attic, where you can examine Pavlena's room.
Press the button "Investigate", to get Indro's comments, and examine various objects: a hat, a basket, a bed, clothes. The daughter left home without finishing her work, and the man's headdress suggests that she may have a lover. Before leaving, you can report your findings to Bozhena, but this will not help matters in any way.
Ask about Pavlena in Troskovitsa
Head to the main settlement and visit the tavern to talk to the owner Beta. Questioning other villagers will not yield any results, only the tavern owner will suggest that you should look for answers in the Town Hall or go to the drunkard Jezhek. Beta will also share that no one likes Bozena in Troskovitz because of the death of Jakesh's wife - this gives Henry another clue.

In the same conversation with the innkeeper, you can check Yezhek's alibi by choosing the following lines:
- Tell me more about Hedgehog.
- Do you think Yezhek could have decided to kidnap her?
Beta believes that a drunkard will not raise his hand against a woman, he can only hurl caustic insults. Besides, a man is too weak to kidnap someone.
Ask the bailiff about Pavlen
Continue gathering information - go to the town hall and ask the bailiff if Pavlena had friends. The man will tell you where to find the lumberjack Roman, who talked to the girl. The following objectives are optional for the passage - you can continue talking to the residents, collecting the story piece by piece, or go straight to the lumberjacks.
You can ask the cooper Yezhek, who lives on the western edge of the village, about Pavlen. The drunkard will also mention Roman and admit that he hasn't left the house for several days because he drank too much in the tavern - this will be easily confirmed by the landlady Beta.
It remains to ask Jakesh about Božena's past - the man often prays at his son's grave in the pasture in the southern part of Troskovice. Ask him about his son and what happened to Božena.

There will be a moment when you can pass test of eloquence and find out: "Do you want to take revenge on Bozhena?". This will not affect the end of the quest, but it may change the players' decision about his fate. Yakesh really does not like the old woman, but he does not wish death on anyone, especially the innocent Pavlena.
Ask the lumberjacks about Pavlen
Go northeast of the village and find the woodcutter Dushko. The old man will ask you to find Roman, who is probably chilling somewhere with Pavlena, and will offer to break into his partner's house. If you have enough speech points, you can answer "I'll come if you pay", and Dushko will give out 25 pennies.
Search Roman's house
There are two ways to get into the lumberjack's house:
- Break the lock on the door - if you have it in your inventory master key, you can pick a very easy lock. There are always few people around, so the chance of being seen by someone is low.

- Climb through the attic - an easier way, to do this, go around the house on the right and use the stairs. There is no one inside, so you can safely jump down and search the room.

In one of the rooms, to the left of the main entrance to the house, you will find a kitchen. Use the "Investigate" button and examine the table set for two. The food is fresh, which arouses more and more suspicions.
It remains to return to Dushko and report the findings. During the day, the woodcutter often sits at the house opposite, and in the morning or evening he can eat at home. After that, the man will share where the lovers' secret place is.
Find the clearing that Dushko spoke of
From Roman's house, follow the stream down until you reach the marked point - turn right and you will reach lovers' denThere will be a pond nearby, picnic arrangements and traces of blood.
Search the crime scene

Pick up a piece of Pavlena's dress from the ground and examine the bloody trail, you will also find a bloody stone nearby. Before going further, you can grab the food from the picnic and get the beer from the pond.
If you have already completed the secondary quest "Barbos" and returned the dog, you can give it to him through the interaction menu sniff a piece of dressThe dog will pick up the scent and lead Indro through the forest straight to Pavlena, then you can skip the stage with questioning the swineherd.
You can also get to the gorge without Barbos' help - just go down to the point marked on the map.
Having decided to follow the bloody tracks, you will come out to a small clearing and see how a pig is finishing off Roman's body. At this point, the objective of searching the crime scene will be considered completed.
Ask the swineherd about the corpse
You can find the swineherd by his loud cries - Pravek will be standing on the slope and calling his pig. Ask him all the questions one by one and say goodbye, finding out that not long ago a certain Soloma was seen in the forest with a shovel.
Meet the peasant Soloma
Return to Yakesh's Court and find the farmhand Soloma to interrogate the suspect. If you have enough points, pass a persuasion check, otherwise you will have to fight the peasant with your fists. Ultimately, Henry can decide Soloma's fate:
- You deserve to die! — the hero will kill the farmhand, which may later have a negative impact on negotiations with his brother, who is holding Pavlena captive.
- I'll let you go, - Soloma will escape punishment, and Henry will have an additional opportunity to get closer to Oldra.
- I'll take you to the bailiff. - will result in a minor loss of reputation, after which you can stand up for him before Drozd, demand punishment or send him to the gallows.
Even if you kill or punish Soloma, you will still have the opportunity to convince Oldra to let Pavlena go.
Find Pavlena
Having learned the necessary information from Soloma, it remains to find the gorge where Oldra holds Pavlena. Follow the stream down until you notice a sharp rise up on the left - climb the rocks and run past the dog to the stairs.

Better Don't kill the guard dog, otherwise you can fail the negotiations with Oldra. If you failed to escape from Khlyup, fight with your bare hands. Still, having killed the dog, you can lie to the man and say that you did not meet anyone on the way, the kidnapper will still believe you.
Save Pavlena

Turning behind the rocks, you will see Pavlena, captured by Oldr, - you need to enter into negotiations and free the girl. If you ignore the man's warnings or act aggressively, he may kill the herbalist's daughter, and the quest will be considered a failure. You can try shooting the kidnapper with a bow while standing at the entrance, but this is a risky undertaking if your shooting skill is poorly developed.
Try to tell Oldra the truth without risking an unnecessary persuasion check, and don't push:
- My name is Jindrich.
- Bozena sent me.
- I know why you're doing this.
- As for your brother... - if Soloma was captured or killed, it’s better to lie.
- Regarding the dog... - if Khlyup was killed, it’s better to lie.
- God will forgive you if you let her go.
At the end you will still have to pass a persuasion test - choose the most pumped up option so that it will be like minimum 10 points.

If the negotiations were successful, Oldra will release the captive and drop her sword, but Pavlena will immediately kill her enemy herself. Talk to the girl and express understanding to improve your reputation, and then decide to send her home:
- First I want to ask you something, — you can ask additional questions.
- We will go together, - automatic transition to Bozena's house.
- Let's meet at your place, - will slightly lower Henry's reputation, but you can stay in the gorge and check the pockets of the dead Oldra.
We recommend taking it from the farmhand keys to doors and chests, when Pavlena leaves the clearing. Later, you can use them in Yakesh's house. If you try to take things from the corpse while the girl is nearby, she will call Indro a thief and run away in panic.
Return to herbalist Bozhena

Go to the herbalist with Pavlena or later to finish the job. The old woman will ask you to deal with Yakesh - agree or try to reconcile them, but don’t refuse Bozhena under any circumstances.
If you don't accept the quest, the women will ignore and chase away Indro, who left them in trouble and did not resolve the conflict. There will also be no reward for the quest.
Is it worth killing the peasant Yakesh?
At the end of the walkthrough, an important choice arises - whether to kill Yakesh at Bozhena's request. Possible scenarios:
- Kill Yakesh - you will be able to protect Bozhena and Pavlena, after his death no one will try to harm them anymore.
- Do not kill Yakesh and do not interfere in the conflict — the main character condemns the women to a tragic outcome: on your next visit to the herbalist’s house, you will find Bozhena and Pavlena hanged.
- Reconcile Yakesh and Bozhena - having successfully negotiated with the peasant, it is possible to achieve reconciliation of the parties, avoiding bloodshed. The best solution, since in the future Pavlena will be able to visit the city without hindrance.
How to convince Yakesh to make peace with Bozhena
The best outcome is to reconcile the two sides, then everyone will remain alive, and Pavlena will again be able to visit the city without hindrance. To do this, find Yakesh in the pasture and try to persuade the peasant to resolve the matter peacefully: tell him about the child or pass one of the persuasion tests.

For successful negotiations it is enough to pump up Charm up to 11 points - you can put it on ceremonial attire or use perfume, if you are missing a few points.
It remains to tell Bozhena about the reconciliation with Yakesh. You can give the compensation from the peasant, the grandmother thanks for the help and offers to take some of the money. Reputation will increase.
How to kill peasant Yakesh
Wait until nightfall in Troskovitsa and head to Yakesh's house after 24:00, while his entire family is asleep. Beforehand, put on a less visible costume and remove the torch from your hands so as not to attract attention from others.
Do backup save in case of failure. If you haven't previously taken the keys from the dead Oldra, also take them with you several master keys, otherwise it will not be possible to break down the door.

Carefully make your way to the second floor when the nearest guard turns the corner and get inside.
The landowner will be sleeping peacefully on the very first bench - strangle him in his sleep and finish him off. At this point you can finish the job and quietly leave the room to head towards Zheleev and tell Bozhena what happened to Yakesh.
Or inspect the remaining rooms - in each of them the peasant's daughters and servants sleep, having the keys from Oldr or the landowner himself at hand, you can easily open any chest in the house. But careless steps and unnecessary noise can wake up the household.

For his suffering, Indro can receive the savings that Bozena saved for her daughter, but the hero's reputation will still fall.
Rewards
The reward also changes depending on the choices made:
- 0 groschen - Do not save Pavlena, refuse to fulfill Bozhena's request and do not interfere in the conflict with Yakesh.
- 50 groschen, reputation increase - convince Yakesh to make peace with Bozhena and give him the severance pay, then grandma will give him half the money.
- 85 groszy, decrease in reputation - kill Yakesh and report this to the herbalist.
You can also reconcile the parties, but in the conversation with Bozhena do not give her the compensation from Yakesh, the theft from the poor old woman will remain on your conscience. Or refuse the reward altogether, as a noble knight.

After saving Pavlena, she left without me, but when I returned to Bozhena, she wasn't home. I waited a few days (both in-game and non-game), but nothing changed, and I don't know where to look for her.
