Hakua Igarashi is a Third Division officer and the younger sister of Second Division Captain Jura. Jura Igarashi

She unquestioningly follows Gen Narumi's orders, whose recognition and attention she has strived to earn from the moment they met. The young man witnessed the transformation of the protagonist, for whom at that time he had already developed sympathy and respect, after which he helped him hide from the military and later get and pass the exam into the Defense Forces. Initially, he had a negative attitude towards Kafka because he gave up his dream, but later changed his mind about him. By nature, Reno is a very calm and collected person; in battle he demonstrates determination and composure, but due to his sense of responsibility he can lose control of himself.

Aoi Kaguragi

Aoi Kaguragi is a rising star in the Japanese Self-Defense Forces who gave up his career in the field to join the Defense Forces. During the physical fitness test, he showed interest in Kikoru Shinomiya, and during the aptitude test, he managed to extract 15% from a special suit. Due to his character and prospects, he has a unique rivalry with Haruichi Izumo, another promising trainee.

Haruichi Izumo

Haruichi Izumo is the heir to Izumo Tech, the largest manufacturer of weapons for fighting kaiju, who decides to participate in the confrontation with these monsters and joins the Third Division along with Kafka and Reno. The main thing for this seemingly calm young man is to become the best, which is why he secretly competes with Kikoru and openly competes with Aoi. In the aptitude test he took second place and gained 18% from the special suit.

Iharu Furuhashi

Iharu Furuhashi is a young officer of the Third Division who strives for constant improvement. During high school, he was saved from kaiju monsters by Mina Ashiro, which prompted him to later become a member of the Defense Forces. Suffering from an inferiority complex, he studied at the Technical College of Neutralization, where he was the best. During the aptitude test, he strived to become the first and competed with Kikoru, wanting to crush her.

Isao Shinomiya

Isao Shinomiya is the Director General of the Defense Forces and Kikoru's father, who has a rather complex personality. After the death of his wife, he became a cold and aloof man, demanding that his daughter become an ideal soldier. As a high-ranking military man, he is far-sighted and calculates his actions several moves ahead. Despite his influential colleagues, he decided to leave Kafka alive and give him a chance to prove himself.

Masahide Tokuda

Masahide Tokuda or Toku is the protagonist's former colleague at the cleaning company Monster Sweeper Inc. When he first appeared, together with Kafka and other cleaners, he cut up the corpse of a kaiju and cleaned up the consequences of the battle with him. Later he introduced his comrades to a newcomer to their company, Reno Ichikawa. By nature, Masahide is loud and soft, quite straightforward and at the same time selfless. He is raising his daughter Chieko and is ready to sacrifice his life for her.

Ryo Ikaruga

Ryo Ikaruga is a platoon leader in the Third Division who rivals Tachibana from the First Division. By nature, he is a very responsible person, capable of honestly recognizing someone's strengths and praising them. A reliable fighter, whom Hoshina often trusts with overall command of the Unit. Ikaruga is known to have to wear contact lenses due to his poor eyesight.

Soshiro Hoshina

Soshiro Hoshina is the vice-captain of the Third Division and a member of the Hoshina family, a legendary clan of swordsmen from the Muromachi era. He has rare insight and was the only one who immediately guessed Kafka’s secret, which is why he accepted him into his unit to keep an eye on him. He is closely associated with members of the Hoshina family and its fencing traditions, due to which he experiences an inferiority complex towards his older brother and strives to hone his own skills with a blade.

Gen Narumi

He enjoys programming, enjoys reading science fiction, and wakes up early in the morning.

Yugo Ogata

Yugo Ogata is the captain of the Defense Force's Fourth Division, a man who genuinely cares for his subordinates and strives to maintain the best possible relationships with other senior officers.
