Wuthering Waves is a cross-platform online game in the Action/RPG genres, developed and published by the Chinese company Kuro Game. The story of Woosering Waves immerses players in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious disaster known as the Lament has engulfed the Earth, wiping out most of humanity. In many parts of the planet, rifts with monsters - predatory and bloodthirsty creatures - appear on a regular basis. Only a few were able to adapt to the threat in order to fight back. The goal of the remaining grain of humanity is to destroy the enemy and restore civilization.

The main character (Rover) suffers from amnesia. He woke up after a long sleep in a world already plunged into chaos. His task is, together with resonators (player characters who have undergone mutations and acquired special abilities), to fight monsters and explore the world, discovering new technologies and delving into the nature of the disaster that occurred.

Which main character should you choose?

Before starting the game, users are asked to choose their Rover - a male or female character. The gender of the main character does not have a serious impact on the plot, they are equally strong, so the choice of what gender Rover will be is the sole responsibility of the player: make a decision in favor of who you like best or which voice acting is more impressive.

How to start playing Wuthering Waves

Before playing VuVu, you need to not only create an account and choose a platform, but also study the characteristics of the characters in order to prepare an effective squad for completing the content.

How to create an account

You can register for Wowering Waves on the official Kuro Games website dedicated to the game. For this:

The choice of characters for the first squad

For a comfortable game and a good start, it is recommended to choose useful characters that will be relevant for a long time:

• Verina [Verina] — 5⭐ Spectro is a healer and buffer with a Rectifier, an excellent support character. Places a mark on enemies, when struck, allies are healed and enemies receive additional damage. Thanks to her passive skill, she can save the hero from a fatal attack by applying a shield. Simply by being in a squad, it increases the attack power of the other characters, and with a charged blow it replenishes the health of the entire team.
• Baizhi — 4⭐ Glacio is a healer and buffer with a Rectifier that converts its own damage into mass healing. A good alternative to Verina, it also increases the attack power of allies.
• Calcharo — 5⭐ main damage dealer of Electro [Electro] elements with a wide blade [Broadblade], playing from two stances (the first - after entering the battlefield, the second - after activating the ult).
• Danjin — 4⭐ main DPS hero with the Havoc element and the Sword. The character's skill does not have a cooldown: she sacrifices her own health to increase attack power, and can do this on an ongoing basis without any restrictions. With a heavy attack, she restores her HP, therefore, she is completely independent and can cope with any enemy without the help of a healer.
• Rover - 5⭐ main character Spectro of the elements with a sword [Sword], who can take the position of sup-DPS. In a dynamic battle, he is able to slow down enemies around him, and as he develops and discovers new const, he can even maintain the health of the entire group.

Please note that to complete the Tower of Adversity you must collect at least three squads. Therefore, if you want to smoothly progress through high-level content, it is recommended to sequentially level up 9 characters at once from the start. Features of co-op mode

Multiplayer mode allows you to invite other players to your world or visit someone else's. In general, co-op is reminiscent of the Genshin Impact system, where users can travel around the world together and defeat bosses. However, WuVa allows you to invite only 2 users, since squad slots limited to three resonators.

You can open the co-op mod with the onset Union level 22, after which the corresponding tab will appear in the main menu. Go there to send a request to a friend or random player and join the world. eThe game has world-class requirements, which means that even if you unlock the co-op feature, you will not be able to join a friend's world if they are in a higher SOL3 phase.

Thanks to the multiplayer game, you can visit other people's worlds to collect materials for leveling up your characters if you ran out of them in single-player mode and don't want to wait several days to restore them. You can also fight Echo and bosses together to farm sets with good stats. As for the final content, Tower of Adversity and Depths of Illusive Realm are not available for co-op play.

How to play in Russian

At the moment there is no official Russian localization, but there is a huge chance that it will be added in the coming months. You can use third-party methods and implement a translator:

• Banner compensation [character] — a free selector with a standard legendary character, which comes as compensation to the mail of all players. The letter gives you a special ticket, thanks to which you can pick up any offered hero on the first try without spending any coins until May 22, 2025. 
• Standard banner [character] - permanent banner. On the 80th summon you are guaranteed to get a standard 5⭐ character.
• Standard banner [weapon] - a permanent Convocation, within the framework of which it is possible to chart a course for the desired weapons. It is guaranteed to drop at 80 spins.
• Temporary banner [character] — a limited version of Convocation, which has a time limit, where also after 80 summons a 5⭐ hero will fall, who with a 50/50 probability will be either standard or limited. If you lose 50/50, the guarantee is converted to 100%.
• Temporary banner [weapon] — a time-limited Convocation, where on the 80th summoning there is a 100% chance that a limited 5⭐ weapon will drop.

In all types of Convocations, a 10⭐ resonator or weapon is guaranteed to drop every 4 spins. In addition, after receiving heroes or weapons, they are given Corals — additional currency, thanks to which you can purchase Waves, duplicate heroes (including 5⭐), materials for leveling up and other resources.

When do spins open in Wuthering Waves?

Spins in VUV will be available with the achievement Union level 5 after completing several initial story quests, when the Convocation section in the main menu is unlocked, as well as a store with the ability donate. Leveling

In Wuthering Waves, as you progress through the game, you will gradually improve your own rank and be able to raise the level of the world. Below we will describe in detail what they influence.

Union Level

Union Level acts as an indicator of game progress. To increase it, you need to engage in various activities:

• Complete story and side missions.
• Explore the open world - collect chests, pass Puzzles and open new teleportation points and Nexus beacons.
• Complete assignments from the Book of Quests [Milestones] - a section that presents small daily and one-time tasks for mastering in the game, which bring a lot of experience.
• Spend Waveplates - resin/energy points. They can be spent on various activities, such as bosses, completing dungeons to obtain upgrade materials, and weekly challenges.

Raising the level of the Union is important to unlock new activities and tasks, thanks to it you can unlock co-op and complete the storyline.

Phase SOL3

Phase [SOL3 Phase] — the in-game level of the world, with the growth of which the power of opponents increases, and the quality of loot also improves. The maximum rank level is 6, and it changes every 10 Union levels. To increase the phase from levels 20, 40 and 60, complete quests "SOL3 Phase Ascension: Phase" from the Tutorial Quest section.

The main feature of SOL3 is that it is similar world level in Genshin Impact can be lowered if the battle with enemies begins to cause certain difficulties. This function has a small time limit, that is, after the first reduction, you will not be able to return to your original rank for the next 12 hours.

The phase also affects the compatibility of worlds. For example, if a friend has reached rank 4, and you are still at rank 3, you will not be able to join him in co-op mode. It is possible to visit only those worlds that correspond to your phase or lower.

Equipment for characters: artifacts and weapons

Each resonator can be equipped with a weapon that corresponds to its class, as well as five Echoes - captured monsters that serve as artifacts/relics and offer certain bonuses.

Echo

Echo is the main type of equipment. Equipping a monster "card" to a unit will provide various stat boosts, from HP to ATK and energy regeneration, and thus provide the bulk of the boost to combat stats.

Echo can be received in the following ways:

• When enemy monsters are defeated, there is a chance that they will leave behind an Echo that you can absorb. Drop frequency and rarity depend on the level of the Data Bank.
• Enemies in the world will be reset daily. The timer is unique for each world, hence it is possible to join another player to farm more Echoes.
• Tacet Field Cleanup is an activity in which you need to kill enemies to get random Echo sets, the element of future relics can be found in the dungeon information.
• Boss Challenge - when defeating an enemy, in addition to materials for upgrading the resonator, you will also receive its Echo, the rarity of which will depend on the level of the Data Bank.

Loot in co-op mode is separate (personal). Each user in the dungeon has a chance to receive an Echo after being killed. As a result, you can endlessly and effectively farm monsters by teaming up with other players and changing worlds.

Echo Sets — a set of artifacts that can be composed of several Echoes of one element. Equip 2 or 4 relics of the same element to your character to get an additional boost to your stats. You can combine equipment by collecting two pieces from different sets, then the hero will receive two passive effects.

A monster may have 2 or even 3 elements specified, but the Echo dropped from it will receive only one of them. For example, if the enemy has Aero and Electro elements, after defeating him a random card will appear with one element: Aero or Electro.

Features of Basic Echo

You can equip up to 5 relics per character, with the artifact that is placed above all (main echo), will offer the hero an additional active ability that he can use as part of a battle or exploration of the open world. For this reason, it is extremely important to keep track of the monsters whose cards drop after killing opponents and equip the most effective Echo available.

Difference between Cost-1, Cost-3 and Cost-4

Every Echo has cost [Cost], which varies from 1 to 4 and determines the class of the artifact:

• Rare class (Cost-1) - simple relics that can be obtained at the beginning of the game can be endowed with such stats as HP in %, attack power in %, defense in %.
• Epic Class (Cost-3) - average artifacts, the characteristics of which include HP in %, attack power in %, defense in %, energy recovery rate, increase in elemental damage.
• Overlord Class (Cost-4) and Disaster Class (Cost-4) - legendary classes, where you can get the same HP parameters in %, attack power in %, defense in %, percentage increases in crit. hit, crit. damage and healing bonus.

All Echoes are endowed with 2 main characteristics and up to 5 additional ones, which are randomly assigned after leveling up. Depending on the class, the following secondary stats may appear:

• Rare class - HP (numeric range, not percentage).
• Epic class - attack power (numeric range, not percentage).
• Overlord class - attack power (numeric range, not percentage).
• Disaster Class - attack power (numeric range, not percentage).

Optimal build for Echo

At the start, each resonator has its own Echo cost limit of 10, which can be increased to 12 by leveling up Bank date, that is, a character can only be equipped with a certain number of Cost artifacts, and their total points should not exceed 10-12. This convention is necessary so that the player is not tempted to install several legendary relics. As a result, it is important to be able to combine Echoes of different rarities in the right way.

Optimal Cost-build:

• В first slot active Echo, place a card of rank Cost-4 with a percentage increase in crit. damage, crit. chance or bonus of treatment (depending on the character’s characteristics).

Do not place duplicate Echoes in slots, since the game counts them as one full-fledged artifact and does not provide new bonuses.

Weapon

Weapons are a type of equipment that can be carried by all Resonators, and they provide certain stat bonuses as well as a new passive effect. All weapons in the game are divided by quality:

• Legendary - the best type of 5⭐ equipment that can only be obtained in the banner. It differs from other types by increased parameters and a good passive effect.
• Epic - average quality 4⭐ weapon offering good performance. It can also be found in banners, sometimes given for completing quests, activities or temporary events.
• Rare - low 3⭐ options, suitable at the early stage of the game, but in the future they are much inferior in their criteria to the remaining classes.
• Normal — 1-2⭐ equipment, which is useful only for upgrading better weapons. Can be obtained in the open world by opening chests and completing puzzles.

There are several variations of weapons, each equipped according to the character's class. For example, the catalyst carrier will not be able to pick up a sword or gloves. There are 5 classes in total:

• Broadblade [Broadblade];
• Gloves [Gauntlets];
• Pistols;
• Rectifier;
• Sword.

What is Data Bank and why is it needed?

Data Bank [Data Bank] — a vessel for storing all captured Echoes, increasing the level of which increases the chance of dropping an Echo and its rarity:

• Rare Echoes will drop from level 5;
• from the 10th - epic;
• from the 15th - epic and legendary;
• from the 20th - only legendary ones.

With leveling up you also get additional rewards, such as astrits and materials for leveling up. In addition, it increases capacity stamina - the energy required to perform various tricks (acceleration, climbing) and delivering heavy blows in battle. The higher it is, the more resilient the character will be.

Character leveling

If you don’t devote time to leveling up your heroes, then even legendary characters with good weapons are unlikely to be able to cope with bosses and high-level content.

Level up

The maximum level of each character is 90; as the resonator's level increases, it receives additional increases to its permanent characteristics - health, attack power, defense. Upon reaching a certain stage of the level, the hero will also encounter stages of elevation. In order to overcome them, you will have to collect a certain amount of consumables that drop from bosses and ordinary enemies or are found in the open world (plants, materials, etc.).

Weapon Upgrade

Like heroes, weapons also range from level 1 to 90 and can be upgraded and ascended to increase permanent stat bonuses. It depends on the character’s class which weapon he can equip, that is, for example, a swordsman will not pick up a catalyst or gloves.

Each weapon, in turn, in addition to increases in basic combat characteristics, offers an additional passive bonus of rank 1. Level can be increased to 5 by activating the synthesis function. Any weapons used as fusion material will be used up and destroyed.

Echo Improvement

You can raise the level of Echo by using special resources or another weaker monster. Increases to lower characteristics are awarded randomly, and the randomness determines which parameter will be assigned to the artifact as a secondary increase-indicator. The only stat that doesn't appear in the lower stats is the elemental damage bonus.

Leveling up suitable characteristics

Each hero is tied to certain characteristics that strengthen him. It is important to pay attention not only to the main, but also to the secondary indicators, otherwise you can lose the entire combat potential of the character.

Basic Features:

• HP is an indicator of health.
• ATK - character's attack and strength.
• DEF - protection level.

Secondary stats include all other stats such as energy regeneration (ultimate accumulation rate), crit. damage and chance, elemental damage bonus, etc. The full list of parameters can be viewed by clicking on the three dots.

The stats are affected by the equipped weapon, Echo sets and resonator level. You can find out exactly what characteristics a particular resonator needs by carefully studying their abilities, as well as their builds.

For example, to make a full impact Jiyan, as the main damage dealer with a powerful ultimate, it is necessary to increase the characteristics to increase elemental damage (Aero elements) and the speed of energy recovery.

Basic character skills

Each unit has 6 different abilities that determine its play style:

• Resonance Skill - a combat ability that the resonator can use with various effects: from dealing damage to healing allies. This skill usually has a cooldown, so it cannot be used multiple times in a row.
• Resonant release — ultimate or the most powerful skill. To use it, you must first charge it by performing certain attacks, using the resonance skill, or dodging enemies.
• Resonance Scale - an ability unique to each resonator, it is represented by a round scale next to the hero. As soon as resonance becomes available, it can be activated for additional. skills.
• Switching skills — Outro and Intro abilities that are activated when switching the resonator as soon as the current hero has accumulated Concert energy.

Intro and Outro

Intro and Outro are a switching mechanic that is actually integrated into every unit. Additional skills are activated when a character appears on the field or leaves it, going into a “pocket”.

Heroes who use any skills and attacks gradually accumulate energy of the Concert above the health bar. When completely full, you will hear a bell sound, signaling that it is time to switch to the next squad member and perform two actions at once:

• The character going into the “pocket” uses his Outro a skill that most often provides buffs or imposes negative effects on enemies.
• A hero entering the battlefield activates Intro, which usually causes damage.

Concert and Resonance Scale

Above the health scale there is an additional bar that shows the accumulated energy of the Concert, which causes Intro and Outro skills.

Next to the character himself there is a circle displaying energy of Resonance, each hero has it unique and can provide an additional ability. For example, Chixia, when this gauge is full, quickly fires at nearby enemies, dealing high damage, while Baiji restores health to the entire team and summons his pet.

Using Echoes in Battle

During combat, the character can turn into Echo, assigned to the active slot to deal an extra hit. At the same time, you cannot control the monster in this state - it automatically lunges towards the enemy and strikes. When Echo leaves the battlefield, he leaves the hero in the air so that he can perform a fall attack.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to dodge the boss's blow in monster form, but Echo only takes 50% damage.

Perfect Evasion

In addition to attack, VUV introduces interesting defensive mechanics, thanks to which you can dodge enemy attacks. By dodging the enemy's attack in time, you will replenish the energy of the Concert and be able to perform a counterattack.

Parry

You can parry a blow if it is highlighted yellow outline. To do this, quickly switch to a melee hero and press the attack button in time to stun the enemy for a while and knock down his stamina gauge.

Enemy stamina scale

The stamina scale is the enemy’s combat state. It can be knocked down through constant blows. Once durability drops to 0, the enemy will be stunned, allowing the character to strike unhindered. When the stun wears off, the monster, having restored its durability scale, will re-enter the battle.

Character Classes

Each resonator uses a specific type of weapon, which determines its class affiliation. This gives a general idea of ​​how the hero fights, as well as what weapons he can use. There are 5 classes in total:

• Broadblade [Broadblade];
• Gloves [Gauntlets];
• Pistols;
• Rectifier;
• Sword.

The rectifier is an analogue of the catalyst used by magicians. It will not be possible to equip other equipment on the resonator, that is, a fighter with a wide blade will not be able to carry pistols or a sword.

Elements and their influence on the combat system

Each resonator in WuV has an elemental element attached to it, which determines the type of damage from its attacks. The game features 7 elements:

• Glacio;
• Fusion;
• Electro [Electro];
• Aero [Aero];
• Spectro;
• Havoc.

Belonging to one or another element is responsible for breaking through the enemy's stamina. Enemies have vulnerabilities and increased resistance to certain elements, so it is important to study the characteristics of the boss before engaging him in battle and assemble the right units.

Heroes of the same element can enhance each other's abilities and give a bonus to elemental damage. The element also affects the unit assembly: for each character you will have to collect the right Echo sets, which will increase its elemental damage or provide other useful buffs.

What to do in Wuthering Waves: analysis of activities

The game with Action/RPG elements presents a lot of content, which will take players a lot of time to complete, because in addition to the main plot, a large world, secondary quests and high-level activities are available for exploration.

Main plot

With each new level you will open quests related to the main storyline of VuVa, marked with a yellow marker. Rover gradually becomes familiar with the world around him and tries to figure out why he has blackouts and how to deal with mutated monsters in order to save the Earth. As you complete the game, you will receive valuable resources, such as Astrites, which are necessary for purchasing cool coins.

Additional tasks

In addition to the main quests, there are many side quests available that affect the history of the world: locations, playable characters and NPCs. For completing them, you will also receive rewards that will help you quickly upgrade your squad and receive donated currency. Types of additional quests:

• Companion Quests — purple missions of certain resonators. During the task, you will get to know the playable hero better and partially learn his biography.
• Third party - ordinary blue side quests, often associated with NPCs, immerse you in the world and reveal more details about the current civilization.
• Research quests - Regional green quests that introduce players to new areas of the open world. Pay special attention to them, as such missions will help you navigate the location and explore it faster.

Open world exploration

In Wuvaring Waves, users can explore a large world: admire the beautiful landscapes, complete puzzles and open chests. The system is somewhat reminiscent of Genshin Impact, but there are some differences in movement methods and parkour elements:

• hook cat — the hero can use a special device to cling to a building and thereby quickly pull himself higher.
• climbing — the ability to climb rocks, houses, roofs and other large objects.
• Wall running - instead of climbing, you can use running on various surfaces and external cladding of buildings, which greatly facilitates the exploration of territories.
• Double jump - You can make a second jump in the air to climb higher. The skill is especially useful when visiting mountainous regions.
• Planer - open the glider to cover significant distances through the air, slowly descending towards the ground.
• "Echo" system — when choosing an Echo with a certain basic skill, it allows you to quickly move around locations. Carefully study the description of the artifact and place it in the first slot if additional jerks are needed.

When traveling, pay attention to additional activities that can be quickly discovered using interactive map of the world. In the regions there are many golden cubes, chests and riddles, which we will talk about in more detail in the paragraphs below.

Also in the open world there are quite a few different tests, riddles and puzzles, where you have to show ingenuity, show dexterity and strength in order to receive rewards and chests. Leveling up the Pioneer Association

В Pioneer Associations give out small rewards for progress in exploring the open world - visiting new areas, completing activities and completing side quests.

Fighting bosses and elite opponents

There are many high-ranking monsters in the world, and defeating them will reward you with various materials for upgrading your characters, equipment and weapons. Complete the activities indicated in book tasks, and spend resin on them to level up faster and get the necessary resources.

Also presented are special weekly opponents, differing from regular bosses in difficulty and rewards received. For defeating them you can earn a lot of Union experience and materials necessary to improve your skills. In just a week you can complete 3 such activities, after which you will have to wait for a reset.

Echo Synthesis

To get rid of unnecessary Echoes in the game there is system synthesis. Place five level 0 artifacts in the slots to receive 1 to 3 random Echoes of random rarity in return. The cost of synthesized equipment is determined by the level of the Data Bank - the higher it is, the better the offered relic.

The function will bring little benefit at the start of the game, since at the initial stages of development it is recommended to use extra cards to level up epic and legendary Echoes. Later, when you raise the level of the Data Bank, you can re-craft initial-class relics.

Daily Energy and Its Management

Waveplates are an energy system where plates are used to obtain resources and upgrade materials from various boss dungeons. It is generated at a speed of 1 time every 6 minutes, you can store a maximum of 240 Waveplates. Try to farm resources more often and spend all available energy to pump up your units faster and also raise the level of the Union.

Energy reserves can be replenished using Astrits or Crystal Solvent, given as a reward for various missions.

Crystal Solvent is an in-game consumable that will grant you 60 Waveplates when used.

Tower of Adversity

Tower of Adversity is a game mode where the goal is to defeat a group of enemies as quickly as possible. After completing a stage, you will receive a rating from 0 to 3 stars depending on how long it took to clear the level. This mode is similar to Twisted Abyss from Genshin Impact or Memories of Chaos "Chamber of Oblivion" from Honkai: Star Rail.

In total, the Tower of Adversity is divided into three parts:

• Stable zone consists of 4 stages and upon completion gives a one-time reward in the form of Astrits.
• Experimental zone — 8 stages giving a one-time reward in the form of Astrits.
• Dangerous area — 10 stages, for the completion of which Astrits are awarded. The levels in this zone are periodically reset, allowing the player to go through them again and receive additional prizes.

It is not possible to complete all stages using the same resonators due to energy limitations. For complete cleaning you will need 3 units, consisting of 3 characters (9 heroes in total). For this reason, when leveling up units, focus on creating competent and balanced teams that can cope with any waves of opponents.

Depths of Illusive Realm

Depths of Illusive Realm is a game mode in which the player selects one Resonator to travel to a simulated world. Along the way, you will collect random sets of positive effects to strengthen the hero and fight enemies. This mode is the equivalent of the Virtual Universe from Honkai: Star Rail.

As part of the activity, you will go through a series of randomized combat and non-combat events, as well as defeat the boss at the final level. As you progress, you will encounter rooms that allow you to pick up other heroes to replace the current one. In general, for the mode it is important to choose characters who occupy the role of main-dd or sub-dd, since they are the ones who are able to cope with the challenges on their own without support.

Tactical Hologram

The Tactical Hologram is a one-time challenge with increasing levels of difficulty. Completing these levels for the first time will reward you with various Echo-related materials and training kits. The latter can be exchanged to get more Echoes or Astrits.

Farm of artifacts

Farming locations for various Echo sets can be found in Book of quests, in the Forgery Challenge: Tacet Field Cleanup section. All activities are divided into sets that can be received as rewards; they are aimed at various passive effects, such as increasing the elemental damage bonus of one of the elements.

Track the desired points and go there to fight many monsters in a limited time and at the end exchange 60 Waveplates for sets of random artifacts. You can team up with friends and complete the activity together: everyone will receive their own reward, and completing the test in a group is much easier.

• Focus on the main story and only start exploring the open world when you have to level up to unlock the next main story mission.
• Exploring the world is very rewarding, as each area contains a lot of treasures, special enemies, puzzles and quests - completing them will give you not only experience, but also Astrits and various materials for leveling up.
