Fresh information on the release date of season 5 of the anime The Blade that Cleaves Demons is expected in the next promotional video, as reported by the official staff. Kimetsu no Yaiba currently has several full-length parts under its belt, a full-length film from ufotable and a completed manga by Koeharu Gotoge.

When asked whether there will be a season 5 of KRD, ufotable gave an official answer after the finale of “Village of Blacksmiths” in the form of an official announcement, supported by a teaser. It is stated that season 5 has been announced as of May 12, 2024, and in April a recap of “The Village of Blacksmiths” will be released.

Briefly about the events of previous seasons

The main character of the anime, Tanjiro Kamado, is the eldest child in a large but poor family. After the death of his father, the guy becomes the main breadwinner and works tirelessly for the sake of his family. One day, returning from the city where he went to sell coal, Tanjiro sees a terrible picture - his relatives are brutally killed, and Nezuko, his sister and second eldest, is turned into a demon.

So the life of the main character is divided into before and after. He is given a helping hand by demon hunter Giyu Tomioka, who, seeing the determination, potential and love of his brother and sister, sends them to mentor Sakonji to train Tanjiro. Kamado decides to find a way to return Nezuko to human form and, after undergoing difficult training and selection, enters the fighter organization. At the trial of the pillars, his younger sister manages to prove that she is safe for people by turning away from Sanemi's blood, and they become full-fledged hunters.

The last manga arc adapted was "Blacksmith Village", in the finale of which Nezuko was able to overcome the sun and thereby become a demon who is not afraid of sunlight. These events force Muzan Kibutsuji to take active action. The original oni intends to capture the girl and absorb her in order to adopt this feature.

What will happen in season 5 of the Demon Slayer

Based on the announcement video, Season 5 of Demon Slayer Blade will be called “Pillar Training.” This arc in the manga is quite small in scope, so it is quite possible that the final battle of the main characters and pillars with Muzan will be touched upon.
