During the summer event "Summer, dragons, fairy tale" in patch 4.8 you can find various Easter eggs and references in Simulank in Genshin Impact. Previously, HoYoverse left similar clues mainly in titles Honkai: StarRail и Zenless Zone Zero, but decided to refresh the project and fill the temporary location with interesting details.
In the English localization, canonical references with exact occurrences of phrases are observed, but localizers translated them into Russian without proper adaptation, so it is quite difficult to notice and recognize everything. In this article we will provide all the Easter eggs that we found in Simulank, and also explain their meaning, but if we missed something, you can add it in the comments.
All references and easter eggs in the summer event in Simulank in Genshin Impact
Total represented in the time domain more than 30 different Easter eggs, referencing other games, films, anime and books. For finding some of them there are small rewards like chests and boxes with mora.
Cotton Eye Joe song
To the southwest of the Rain Song Pond teleporter, you can find a hamster standing in front of several spectators. There is a reference to the band's iconic song Rednex - "Cotton Eye Joe".
In the original, the animal says the famous line “Where does she come from, and where will she go?”. You can applaud him at the end of his performance to receive a box of Mora.
Elden Ring
In a secondary mission "Lotus and the Champion" meet Orella, the head judge of the frog jumping competition, during which they selected the best athlete to meet the princess. In the English localization his name is Horellou, which is similar to the name Hoara Loux - the first lord of Elden from the game "Elden Ring".
The Master and Margarita
Complete jumping test with two frogs in the north-west of the Rain Song Pond to hear the phrase “Master, now everything is clear to me!”, referring to the work of Mikhail Bulgakov - “The Master and Margarita”. In the last chapters, the hero of the novel begins to see clearly, a new truth is revealed to him regarding Azazello’s plan, and the master says, “Now I understand everything.”
Lorax
When you first reach the capital during the mission "They Follow the Stars", then you will meet Navia. The girl with a false mustache looks suspiciously like the Lorax, a character from the cartoon of the same name, which tells about a distant future where the whole world consists of plastic and there is practically nothing alive left.
Attack of the Titans
In the north of the Constellation Capital, you can see a scene from Attack on Titan in which Eren points Mikasa and Armin towards the sea. In the English version, the toy man repeats the phrase exactly "The Other Side of the Sea", is also the name of the opening for the fourth season of the anime. Take a photo with a nearby photographer for a reward.
Yugioh
As you go up the northern stairs towards the city, you will notice two men acting out a moment from the anime “Yugio!”
Seto Kaiba, while climbing, argues in the same way that there are too many steps.
Death note
Hidden on a protruding wooden platform on the roof of the house is an Easter egg from Death Note. The famous scene is shown in which Light Yagami admits that he is Kira and says: “Only I will make this world a better place! Who else could do this?
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
In the center of the Constellation Capital there is a carriage where the developers repeated a scene from the video game “Skyrim”. This is a callback to the opening scene where the Dragonborn wakes up in a carriage - a title that spawned many memes at the time.
In the English translation, the little men repeat almost the exact phrase “Hey, you're finally awake", after which the NPC must offer the main character to escape.
Spiderman
Use the mechanical key to climb to the top floor of the building, where you can see another photographer who caught an interesting scene.
Three participants parody the popular Spider-Man meme, taken from the cartoon of the same name. Initially, there were two similar characters, but later users photoshopped a third person to highlight the similarities between different people or memes.
Pinocchio
On one of the balconies you can find a reference to the fairy tale by Carlo Collodi - “The Adventures of Pinocchio. The history of a wooden doll." As you know, a boy’s nose lengthened if he lied about something. You can take the nearby Mora box and pretend you didn't do anything.
Honkai: StarRail
During the quest "They Follow the Stars" the heroes of the summer event will ride on an air train, which can later be found again at the highest point of the capital. Fans of other HoYoverse titles will definitely notice a reference to the game here Honkai: StarRail, where the Nameless Ones travel through space on the Star Express.
Squid game
Fans of the Korean series "The Squid Game" can take part in one of the deadly challenges "The quieter you go, the further you'll get". You need to get to the finish line without moving under the gaze of the doll. Losers in the series were shot, but here the developers used glue projectiles that chained the participants to the floor.
Upside down world
On one of the buildings you can save people stuck to the glue on the wall. One of them says the phrase “Inverted world”, which in English localization sounds like "Inverted world". If deciphered correctly, you can see a reference to Shinji Hirako from the Bleach manga and his welcome to the overturned world. In addition, this is the name of the science fiction story “The Overturned World.”
Japanese declaration of love
If you sit on a bench next to a lonely toy man, next to whom there is a locked ordinary chest, you will hear a veiled declaration of love. In Japan, a popular romantic phrase is “The moon is beautiful today, isn’t it?”, by saying which the lover checks whether the feelings of his interlocutor are mutual.
In the wake of the wind
Perhaps the developers also left a reference to one of the players’ favorite temporary events "Following the Wind", in which you need to hide and look for your friends. In several places in the city, three toy men offer to play together, in return offering a rich chest if you find them all.
Singin' in the rain
At the entrance to the capital, a scene from the film “Singing in the Rain” was unveiled, in which actor Gene Kelly, in the role of silent film star Don Lockwood, holds on to a lamppost in the rain.
Treasure Lover
On the territory of the main city you can read messages from a resident of the kingdom and find well-hidden treasures. Similar riddle from Dursus appears on the Sumeru message board, so perhaps one of the inhabitants of Simulanka is his reflection in the fairy-tale world.
Let's ambush him
There is one more reference that we have not yet been able to accurately decipher. The scene is reminiscent of a painting by the Belgian artist Henriette Ronner-Kniep, which, when accurately translated into English, is called “To lay an ambush.” You can share your guesses in the comments.
Spirited Away
At the western end of the Forest of Blessings, you can call the Sea Express after you start the quest "They Follow the Stars". The train arriving on water is reminiscent of the anime Spirited Away, where Chihiro Ogino used a similar type of transport.
Meme “What scares you most?”
In the "Notes on the Story" side quest, users noticed several references, including the famous "What scares you most?" meme. After Boborano confesses his fears, another participant in the story, Cappeto, states that he is now afraid of his friend.
Puss in Boots
In the quest plot "Notes on History" the main character becomes a temporary marquis and solves the mystery together with Kirara, wearing the "Ghost in Boots" costume. All this refers players to the popular fairy tale “Puss in Boots” by the French writer Charles Perrault, which was translated into Russian by Vasily Zhukovsky. In the children's story, the youngest son was the Marquis Karabas, who received everything he wanted thanks to a savvy cat. You can also attribute the Easter egg to the popular cartoon “Shrek”, where the charismatic red-haired Puss in Boots appears.
The Stanley parable
Overall, the narrative in the "Notes to the Story" quest is reminiscent of the video game "The Stanley Parable", in which the entire story is told by a narrator. If the main character's actions do not coincide with the plot, for example, he opens the wrong door, then after the narrator's message he will have to change his decision. As you enter the sacred site of Albizzi, if you pass the guards to the right instead of the left, a mysterious voice laments that the player has freedom of action in the open world.
Open up, police
As you progress through the “Notes to History” quest, in order to obtain the second manuscripts of the goddess, you will have to correctly answer the questions of a certain voice behind the door. In the phrase “Open up, police!” there may be a popular meme about FBI officers shouting “Open up” before breaking into a house.
I ask you to blame Klava K for my death
At the end of the "Notes to History" quest, the heroes find Cappet dead, and his last words were "...blame Boborano for my death." The phrase is consonant with the title of the story “I ask you to blame Klava K for my death.” Soviet writer Mikhail Lvovsky, on which a film of the same name was also made. In the story, Sergei met with Klava, but after breaking up he could not forget her.
Patriotism Moriarty
Later in the same Story Notes mission, the Detective will try to escape screaming "I'm getting out!" In the English translation, the character says “Catch me if you can!”, repeating William Moriarty’s phrase from the anime “Moriarty’s Patriotism” - "Catch me if you can, Mr Holmes".
Forrest Gump
Sit on a bench near a lonely guy with an apple on the southern island of the Broken Sea and listen to his escape story, after which you will unlock a regular chest.
During the dialogue, you will hear the phrase "Run, Diamond, Run", repeating the popular line "Run, Forrest, Run" from Winston Groom's cult classic Forrest Gump. It describes the character of the protagonist, who takes advantage of every opportunity to do what he does best.
DreamWorks
If you go down to the lower level of the same island, you will meet a guy fishing in the sky. Looking at it from the side, you can see a kind of fishing rod, which is reminiscent of the famous screensaver of the DreamWorks Animation studio.
Zveropolis
A little further on the same island of the Broken Sea you can solve a puzzle with colored cubes and see figures symbolizing the main characters of the cartoon “Zootopia”:
- Bunny in Blue - Judy Hopps.
- The Fox in Green - Nick Wilde.
Flowers will show you the right path
In the western part of the sea you can get to a remote island where there is riddle with four colors. Collect plants and solve the puzzle to open an easy air path to the next section of the map. Interestingly, there may be a hidden reference to the title of the popular Chinese drama “Flowers Will Show the Right Path.”
A little prince
When you finish the secondary task "To the lighthouse or into the distance", you can return to the small island in the western part of the map and help Panuel. After this, the guy and the flower will finally make peace, and it will be possible to watch a scene that refers to the fairy tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupery - “The Little Prince”. In it, the main character treated his Rose with the same reverence.
Three Days of Daiya's Fantasy
On the southern island of the Broken Sea, at the request of the toy men, it is necessary to tie the flying house with a rope, putting the second pillar in place. This reminds me of a task "Three Days of Daiya's Fantasy" from last summer event "Summer! Amusement park? Mirage!".
During one of the stages "Saving the Heavenly City" The traveler had to stop the city moving through the air so that it did not crash on the rocks.
On the other hand, this may be a reference to the cartoon "Up", in which the main character Carl Fredricksen fulfills the dream of his departed wife and goes on a journey, tying thousands of balloons to the house.
Moana
In the decisive battle of the event task "Until the end of the world" The wanderer asks the dragon to remember his real name, which he managed to learn from visions. In the Disney cartoon Moana, the main character similarly saves her people from the angry goddess Te Fiti.
How to Train Your Dragon
Later in the same cutscene, the Traveler touches Durin with his hand, soothing his wounded feelings. This reminded players of the moment from the cartoon “How to Train Your Dragon” when Hiccup, after a long time, approaches Toothless and touches him for the first time.
Characters from the event quest
On the small island to the right of the central lighthouse of the Broken Sea, you will meet good monsters that refer to the main participants of the summer event:
They won't attack even if you take the chest.
Past summer events
В secret room of witches on Whispering Island you can plunge into memories and look at items that refer to past summer events. So inside you can find:
- Harpastum of the Wind from the event Midsummer Island Adventure.
- Statue of Oz the Raven - Summer sea voyage.
- Chug-chug tarataika - Mirage Velurium.

It's a shame you can't replay the summer events. I missed a lot.
At the entrance to the mine behind the waterfall lies a little man who says, "So dark... So cold..." Reminiscent of Adam's death scene from Nier Automata.
The scene with the dragon and the Wanderer is identical to the scene from the cartoon "Moana" when Moana asks the angry goddess to remember her name and she becomes kind!!!!!
Thanks, added)
Another gaming site copied your article almost exactly, but yours is also incomplete. You could add a few more Easter eggs; there's a video on YouTube.
We are still working on expanding ours, thanks for your vigilance ^^
Thank you so much! This is the best Simulanka video I've seen so far!
The region turned out really well—kind, fun, and interesting. There's plenty to explore, too. It's not just about timed battles with overpowered characters. It's great to see some developers with imagination.
We are happy to try)
