Guide to Dialing in Zenless Zone Zero With an explanation of the passive effects "Approval" and "Complaint" and the rules for using enhanced special skills. In teams, she acts as a stunner, quickly filling the enemy's stun meter. Due to her skill set, she's suitable for any Assault and Destruction agent, completely outshining other characters of a similar specialization. She allows for an unscheduled ultimate and applies a large number of buffs and debuffs.
Each of these traits makes her a unique hero, capable of significantly boosting not just a single DPS unit, but the entire account, as her presence in the roster allows for a high degree of team composition variability. The only thing that needs to be considered is the build, which relies on critical hit rate boost and stun effectiveness.

How to Get the Character
The "Signal Search" event, from where you can get the girl and her signature amplifier, will be launched in the second half the 3.1 update, August 19, and will last until September 8, 2026.
To avoid missing the Dialing rerun and stay up to date with all the upcoming heroes, follow the constantly updated banner schedule.
Strengths and Weaknesses

This striking representative of the stunner class has no critical weaknesses: like other legendaries, she requires a signature weapon and a personalized build. In return, she provides the squad with a top-notch stun, quick access to her ultimate, and a host of useful buffs.
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| A flexible unit with a versatile set of buffs—suitable for any team with Destruction and Attack. | Heavily dependent on the "Call from the Past" signature, which contains all the necessary stat bonuses. |
| Upgrades normal attack chains into a super ability—the most powerful skill of most damage dealers. | Due to his abilities, he needs a critical chance, which will have to be sought, among other things, in the parameters of the drive discs. |
| The skill change allows Offense DPS units to cluster together through Fugu-Electro and deal even more total damage. | Forces you to carefully consider each squad's rotation to not only activate key bonuses, but also to include as many enhanced damage-dealing skills as possible. |
| Extends the stun for a few seconds and increases the target's vulnerability multiplier. | |
| Generates stun quickly, easily keeping up with other Intimidation specialists. |
The Best Dialing Builds in ZZZ
Due to the unique critical hit scaling and gameplay features, we recommend focusing on the following stats when building:
- CRIT Rate — each percentage over 50% gives 1,4-2 impulse points;
- passives of equipment must contain bonuses to stunning, which work better than the "raw" impulse;
- preference is given to amplifiers with energy recharge;
- Bonus to physical damage, crits, penetration, and ATK if sufficient critical hit chance is accumulated.
Rating of amplifiers
Among the Intimidation "guns" there are few alternatives to the signature, but truly worthy options can still be found.
| Amplifier | The effect | Recommendation |
A call from the past (5⭐)Basic ATK 48-713
|
Increases the V/E of the carrier located “in the pocket” by 1.5-2.3 units (per sec.). If an agent with this equipment deals physical damage with an EX skill, his stun power is increased by 9-14.5% for 10 sec. (the effect stacks up to 3 times, re-applying it refreshes the duration). At three levels of the effect, the critical damage rating of the entire team receives an increase of 30-48% for 40 sec. (the effects of two identical amplifiers do not stack). |
Dialing's signature spell fulfills the core requirements of her skill set. It not only increases combat effectiveness through increases to stun power, damage per hit, and energy generation, but also expands her support potential with an AoE buff to critical damage. |
Hellfire Gear (5⭐)
Basic ATK 46-683
|
An agent with this item restores energy outside the battlefield for 0.6-1.2 units/sec faster. When launching a strengthened special attack, the impulse stat increases by 10-20%This effect stacks up to 2 times and lasts for 10 seconds (the duration of each stack is calculated separately). | An alternative to S-rank signature weapons with a percentage boost to impulse in both the primary stat and passive. Considering she often attacks from the pocket, the boost to damage/emotion due to the "off-the-battlefield" condition perfectly complements the overall gameplay. |
Double boiler (4⭐)
Basic ATK 40-594
|
For every 10 units of energy available, the owner's impulse increases by 2-3.2%The effect stacks up to 8 times and lasts for 8 seconds after the energy is spent; the duration of each stack is calculated separately. | This option offers a powerful boost to energy at maximum stacking level—a whopping 50%. However, the downside is the passive effect: the girl constantly uses the skill and usually doesn't build up energy to the maximum. |
Precious fossil (4⭐)
Basic ATK 40-594
|
If the enemy's HP is not below 50%, the agent equipped with this amplifier deals damage to them. 10-16% More stun. If the enemy's HP is at least 75%, the bonus is doubled. | The Amplifier works well against tough bosses, allowing you to quickly fill their stun meter in the first seconds after the battle starts. |
Six-shooter (BP)
Basic ATK 40-594
|
A character with this weapon gains 1 charge level every 3 seconds (max stacks - 6). Using the enhanced firepower consumes all charges, and each passive level consumed in this way increases the stun dealt by the skill by 4-6.4%. | A level 30 weapon from the paid Battle Pass that can be used for a long time due to its availability and optimal character-specific growth. |
What drives to install
There are two great sets to choose from for the character:
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
|
Lord of the Mountains 2 parts: stun +6%. 4 parts: When an Agent of Intimidation equipped with this set launches an empowered special skill or attack chain, all allies gain a 15% Critical Damage bonus. If the wearer's Critical Chance is 50% or higher, the bonus to Critical Damage is doubled (+15%). The buff lasts for 15 seconds (repeated launches refresh the duration, and this effect does not stack). |
The best gear option, aimed at increasing stun, which will allow her to stun enemies even faster. Additionally, it increases the damage of allies. |
|
Shockstar disco 2 parts: impulse +6%. 4 parts: Basic moves, dash attacks, and counterattacks after dodging deal 20% more stun damage. |
A decent replacement for the position one set, it can be equipped early in the game. However, in later stages, it forces you to consider Lord of the Mountains due to its damage buff, which increases the combat potential of not only the wearer but the entire team. |
Each of these sets can be combined with each other in combination 4 × 2 (to achieve maximum efficiency, the 4 parts of “Lord of the Mountains” and 2 from “Shokstar-disco” are considered as a priority).
If you are unlucky with good “pieces”, then you can use the combination option 2×2×2, where the third set is:
- "Dyatlokor-electro" (+8% to critical hit chance) - priority for 4x2 if it is not possible to reach the optimal critical hit chance value;
- "Fierce Heavy Metal" (+10% to physical damage).
Recommended Stats
The main indicators when pumping disks for a stuner are:
| Position | The main parameter |
| 1 | Health (permanent) |
| 2 | ATK (constant) |
| 3 | Protection (permanent) |
| 4 | Crit Rate |
| 5 | Physical Damage Bonus - priority; ATK or Penetration - alternatives |
| 6 | Energy recharge |
Among the secondary characteristics, the most important are:
Critical Chance > Critical Damage > ATK% > Penetration
Optimal stat values at full boost (including equipped gear):
- crit chance: 80-100% is the optimal value (the maximum bonus for the impulse is achieved at a value of 122%, but collecting more than 100% is not advisable);
- CRIT DMG: 140-180%;
- ATK: 2200-2500;
- energy recharge: 1.5 or higher.
Which banbu is suitable?
The operator's mechanics require a stun window, so the most valuable Banbu supporters for her are Birkblick, Robin, and Sumobu. Also good choices are minions that restore energy or provide universal buffs.

Dialing Troop Guide in Zenless Zone Zero

According to her additional passive ability, Dialing should be in a squad with Offense or Destruction. Then she'll be able to buff allies with a +40% damage buff and enhance her abilities. She should also always be positioned to the right of the damage dealer—if the preceding character is Offense or Destruction, the operator will deal increased damage with special attacks.
In the last slot, you can take a Support, Defense, or even a second Intimidation buffer—the main thing is that it helps activate the makings of a main DPS unit.
Best allies
Offense - heroes that rely on attack power and crits.
Destruction - fighters with solid survivability, whose damage completely ignores the defense of their targets.
Gunsmiths rely on defense and critical chance when dealing damage.
Support provides bonuses to various stats to the team and calls in quick support for the next hero.

Defense supports are valued for their shields, healing, and specialized bonuses. The only caveat is that Pan Yinhu's abilities conflict with Dialing's abilities, so you'll have to choose between the SSA buff and Dialing's damage output.
Among the agents of the Anomaly, one stands out Aria - a representative of a class that requires an Intimidation character.
Best team samples
The girl works well with the vast majority of agents, so squads with her are built according to a simple principle: pair the hyper-carry with the most suitable support and leave the central slot for the Intimidation hero.
| Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
Ye Shunguang | Dialing | Zhao Sanna | One of the best squads with a Krampus representative. She supports Ye Shunguang well and quickly stuns enemies. Zhao can be replaced with Sanna if desired, but that will weaken the team slightly. |
Agent of Destruction | Dialing | Lucia fufu | The Agent of Destruction, being the main source of DPS, will receive good increases to stats and damage when teamed with two supports who primarily attack from the pocket. |
Evelyn Pirois | Dialing | Aster | Evelynn has a built-in buff to her ultimate and attack chain, and her skills have plenty of animation cancel windows. Astra, the singer, is a great ally, helping her switch more often. Evelynn can be swapped out for Pyrois without major losses. |
Sigrid Hugo Ellen | Dialing | Lightyear Lycaon | Hugo is also among the best teammates with the best synergy: his ultimate and skill remove enemy stuns and deal massive damage with "Itogo." In this squad, he can be replaced with the classic shark Ellen or Sigrid. |
Zhu Yuan | Dialing | Support Agent | If you decide to form a squad around Zhu Yuan, then supplement it with any Support and equip Fugu Electro disks. |
Soldier 0 | Dialing | Cissia Orpheus | The Operator can also complement the Armed Forces team: she compensates for the lack of Trigger Gun with a constant vulnerability application, an accelerated stun, two ultimate charges, and an all-around buff. She can also replace Orphea with Cissia to create an electro squad with additional buffs for the main damage dealers. |
Soldier 11 | Dialing | Lucy | A F2P example of a team with a standard Legendary. Dialin quickly stuns enemies, Lucy provides an ATK buff and supports with side-effect damage, and Soldier 11 utilizes his full active skill set. |
Nekomiya Billy | Dialing | Nicole | An example of a team from the starting character set. Billy accumulates stacks of Ultimate buffs after each of his central attacks. Later, he can be swapped out for the more flexible Nekomata. |

How the skills work
In battle, the operator alternates between enhanced special attacks and non-essential ones, gradually filling the "Approval" bar (up to 120 points) displayed under her portrait. Having accumulated enough passive points, she can replace her ally's chain attacks with an ultimate:
- If she hits a target, holds a non-target, or quickly assists a stunned enemy, 60 units of "Approval" are spent.
- If the enemy isn't stunned yet, holding b/a can trigger "Conversation Ended!", spend 90 passive points, and forcefully trigger a central attack with the subsequent replacement of the move with an ultimate.
- Additionally: "Conversation Ended!" always requires spending a "Complaint," and this charge only appears after reaching 90 units of "Approval."
Among other bonuses, the "Paper" effect is worth noting: hitting a target with the skill increases their vulnerability multiplier and stun duration. This debuff is removed after the stun ends.
- Basic attack: Two variations of punches. Alternating with the skill increases interrupt resistance.

- Evasion: classic set of dashes and counterattack.

- Help: "Challenge Rejected" uses less assist points, and after "Challenge Without Interruption" you can immediately perform the final blow without an attack.

- Special Attack: When out of energy, performs a weak ring throw. If the "Complaint" circle is full, holding the "no" button triggers "Conversation Ended!", which is considered an EX skill. Depending on whether you have "Approval," this move will either call for quick help or trigger a central attack with a forced Ultimate swap.

- Enhanced Special Attack: consecutive use of the technique with a delay of no more than 8 seconds allows you to perform the combination “Rock → Paper Scissors!”

- Chain of attacks: powerful attacking abilities without any special bonuses for the squad.

- Basic deposit: The heroine's impulse increases by 1,4 points for every 1% critical chance above 50%. "Paper!" applies a buff to the target that increases the stun duration and vulnerability multiplier. Empowered skills restore Approval more effectively. The description also specifies the exact conditions for upgrading the target's critical strike to the ultimate.

- Additional deposit Activates if there is Destruction or Attack in the pack: the girl gives a +40% damage bonus and deals additional damage with EX skills, which scales with the stats of the fighter on the left.

The order of leveling skills
Aptitude = b/a = skill > c/a = help > evasion
Focused on stunning, the girl needs a parallel swing basic attack that is typical for a two-handed weapon user и skillsPropensities are studied primarily for the sake of base critical chance and better conversion of the parameter into impulse.
Next you can invest resources in chain of attacks, which drains the health of enemies well, and helpEvasion develops last.
The best eidoses

All mental picture slots provide a serious boost to both the girl herself and the squad she supports.
| M1: Positive attitude | The operator accumulates 16% more "Approval" from all sources. While in "Excellent Reviews" state, characters ignore 15% of the target's damage resistance from all attributes. |
| M2: 24/7 hotline | Enemies stunned by the Problem Client effect gain a 20% increased vulnerability multiplier, and allies also deal 15% more damage to them. |
| M3: A call from the cavern | Level of b/a, evasion, assistance, special attack and c/a - +2. |
| M4The past does not disappear without a trace | At the start of combat, Dialing restores 20 energy. In Scouting mode, this effect lasts no more than 180 seconds. If the "Excellent Reviews" status is active, her ATK is increased by 500. |
| M5: Lie | Level of b/a, evasion, assistance, special attack and c/a - +2. |
| M6:True | When an ally uses a super ability enhanced by Dialin, they gain the "Resonance" status: when hitting an enemy, the heroine deals additional physical damage equal to 480% of her ATK. Damage dealt in this way is considered damage from the enhanced physical damage. This effect can occur up to 12 times per second; the number of charges is refreshed each time the status is applied. Only one ally can have "Resonance" at a time. |
The best consts of Dialing are the first, second and sixth:
- M1 Grants virtually permanent ignorance of all types of resistance—one of the most powerful bonuses a support player can offer. The efficiency of "Approval" accumulation increases, and with it, the speed of rotation.
- У M2 A fairly straightforward effect: a stunned enemy hit by the operator's Paper takes significantly more damage.
- Thanks to M6 The girl begins to more actively drain enemy health without wasting time on the field. The damage of her extra hits scales with ATK, crits, and other stats, making Konsta a perfect finishing touch to a heroine's build that emphasizes crit chance.
You should invest in a character according to the following principle: signal > M1 > M2
How to play as the heroine

She easily adapts to battlefield conditions and has flexible skill timings—in squads, she's forced to adapt only to her main damage-dealing style. Her basic rotation is as follows:
- While you're building up the stun on the enemy, use three consecutive skills, reaching "Paper." You can pause between attacks for no more than 8 seconds, allowing other agents to join the fight.
- Once you've staggered an enemy, make sure Dialing has between 90 and 120 Approval.
- Switch to the operator and hold down the b/a button - this will launch the c/a through the "Conversation Ended!" skill, spending 90 units of "Approval".
- Call in a DD - his C/A will be upgraded to his ultimate.
- Then perform a targeting attack on another ally and switch back to the damage dealer.
Instead of step five, especially if you have M1 and sufficient energy generation, you can cancel the chains and, while the stun is still active, use enhanced special attacks to build up "Approval" for another "End of Conversation!" This isn't always practical, but this way you can activate two or even three of your primary DPS ultimates.
Is Dialing worth it?

Krampus, a representative of the Overseer organization, is a classic Intimidation agent who deals damage with the Physical attribute. She can act as a buffer and secondary damage dealer, placing her in the S+ tier, where versatility is highly valued. As an active character on the field, she quickly fills the stun meter on enemies, thus creating a long DPS window for hyper-carries. Her passives also provide a bonus to allied damage, which is useful for any Assault/Destruction unit.
The skill set's main feature revolves around a unique Approval indicator: Thanks to it, when a certain amount of charge is reached, allies gain access to a second ultimate, which doesn't consume decibels. This advantage can significantly boost the squad's primary damage dealer, whether it's Shifu Yixuan with multiple types of ultimates, or another damage-dealing agent that relies on frequent stuns/attack chain abilities (e.g. Evelyn's bodyguard).

Is it really possible to reach at least 140 damage by focusing on critical chance? I don't understand the trick.
Where's the Shunguang-based build? Or does Dialing not work with it at all?
These guys are kidding me. They write on the Shunguang guide that Dialing is the perfect support after Zhao, but in the Dialing guide there's not a single mention of Xiaoguang :3
Due to high workload, it was not possible to return to older builds for updates, which is why such discrepancies with new ones occur.
Then I take back my words and apologize for my rudeness. It's just that Norma was added to the Shunguang guide very quickly, and there's literally no ideal damage dealer for Dialing here.
There will be a Dialing banner soon, I hope you can update it closer to it <3
Yes, the author will be back from vacation soon, and next week we'll be updating the old builds 🙂
Tell me, will Ellen + Dialin + Sokaku be okay? That's the only thing available to me right now.
Norm
Please tell me who can be assigned to the squad with Hugo and Dialing as a four-star, because the only five-stars left are Rina.
Enby, Pulchra, and possibly Nicole.
Basically, any stunner. I have a larger roster, and Lycaon/Dialin/Hugo performed quite well in an event that required multiple teams. The key here is Hugo's perk, which requires two stunners in a squad to deal damage.
I mean 122% crit. chance? There's a maximum of 100
She still receives over 100% impulse bonus.
Doesn't receive any. She has a 100 impulse cap from her passive skill.
