In HSR, Jingliu is a legendary follower of the Path of Destruction and posseses the ice element. In battle, she focuses on destroying enemies and takes the position of the main damage dealer. In addition, she can act as a secondary unit, since she does not consume many skill points.
The key mechanics are contained in the mode activated by accumulating special stacks. While in a strengthened form, the heroine becomes much more powerful, but as a "compensation" she reduces the health of her partners. Based on this, an important component of the swordswoman's team are the Abundance supports, capable of maintaining the survivability of all group members.
As a result, the ability to deal damage to multiple targets, her own increases and buffs in combination with low expenditure of action points allow the character to be used in almost any type of content. The most important thing is to select equipment that reveals the combat potential of the unit, and to create a team that takes into account the specific features of its skill set.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Jingliu is an experienced swordswoman able to defeat any opponent. However, like many other heroes, she has her "pros" and "cons".
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
| Strength and versatility. Deals high damage to a group of enemies and one enemy. Plays well in various situations, including when clearing difficult combat content. | Consumes HP of allies in Spectral Transmigration when she attacks. Although the health loss is small, it can be detrimental in a long battle. |
| Saving skill points. The enhanced skill does not consume action points, which simplifies rotation and gameplay in auto-combat. This also allows the rest of the team to use their skills more often. | The team is in particular need of a support character of the Path of Abundance, since taking into account the constant loss of health, the entire team becomes quite vulnerable. |
| Built-in buffs. Talent increases critical parameters and advances action. In addition, the traces contain additional bonuses to crit dmg, speed and health, which simplifies the build. | Although the swordswoman has AoE potential, it is limited to only a few enemy targets. Accordingly, in "Pure fiction" her effectiveness drops a little. |
| Flexibility. Being "friendly" in terms of spending skill points, she can, if necessary, take the position of a second damage dealer, which expands the choice of teammates. | |
| Scales with HP. It is beneficial because it not only gives the heroine good survivability in battle, but also simultaneously increases the damage she inflicts. |
Best Jingliu Builds in Honkai: Star Rail

The former Sword Master is an ice DPS character focused on crushing opponents in a special mode. Despite the many buffs contained in her own skill set, it is important to provide the heroine with third-party increases. Accordingly, given the specifics of the abilities, Jingliu's HSR build should be based on the following characteristics:
- Health (HP) — all the heroine's abilities depend on this indicator, and since crit rate and crit dmg already increase significantly from third-party sources, it is better to give priority to HP, as the main damage multiplier.
- Critical parameters — should reach high values during combat, when all possible enhancements are activated. However, as a rule, they are reached through sub-stats/equipment to balance the final indicators.
- Speed — is necessary for rapid accumulation of Syzygy stacks. It is gained up to the minimum recommended threshold or 1 point higher than the speed of the Harmony/Remembrance support in order to perform extra actions.
Recommended Stats
The main stats that are recommended to look for in relics:
| Relic | Main characteristic |
| Head | HP (fixed) |
| Hands | Attack Power (fixed) |
| Body | HP (priority), crit. damage (situational) |
| Boots | Speed (priority), HP (situational) |
| Planar Sphere | Ice Bonus (priority), HP (situational) |
| Link Rope | HP |
Secondary stats:
Speed > Crit Chance > HP > Crit Damage
The optimal final values of stats that are desirable to have on the character:
- HP: 6+
- CRIT Rate: 50% (without talent, but with a boost from allies); 100% (with talent included).
- CRIT DMG: 150% and more
- Speed: 135 or 1 point higher than the buffer.
Light Cone Rating
The most suitable light cones are presented and analyzed in the table below.
| Light cone | Description | Recommendation |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 62-1376 ATK 21-476 DEF 18-396 |
Max. HP increases by 18-30%, and incoming healing by 20-40%. When using a skill or superpower, health is spent in the amount of 6-8% of max HP, and the damage of the skill used increases by 30-50%. If the lost health exceeds 500, the damage is additionally increased by 30-50%If the current health is not enough, the unit's HP is reduced to 1. |
One of the strongest cones, especially when reaching 8 HP or higher (due to various buffs, it may be lower outside of combat). Offers a significant boost to HP and damage from the ultimate and skill, which is considered the main source of DPS. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 52-1164 ATK 26-582 DEF 18-396 |
Increases critical damage by 20-32%. When an ally is attacked or spends HP, the owner gains 1 stack of Eclipse status. Max 3 stacks. Each stack increases the damage of the next hit by 14-24%. Reaching 3 status levels will allow you to ignore 12-20% of enemy defense. After performing a hit, all levels are reset. | The Signature Cone is somewhat inferior to the previous option, but in any case provides pleasant enhancements that help the heroine on the battlefield. At the same time, the passive is easy to activate due to the fact that the girl constantly spends HP of allies. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 57-1270 ATK 26-582 DEF 15-330 |
Crit. chance and wearer's health are increased by 18-30%. When the owner is hit or spends their HP, the damage they deal increases by 24-40%This effect is removed after the owner attacks an enemy. | Increases crit chance, HP and DPS dealt. Although crit bonus is a priority, if crit rate is lower than the recommended value, an increase will not hurt. The main thing to look for is that the indicator does not exceed 100%. The second part of the passive is less constant, but if you play without a shield, receiving damage is almost inevitable. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 24-529 DEF 15-330 |
Crit chance increases by 12-20%. Damage dealt by skill and super ability is increased by 24-40%. | An excellent option that will not only enhance the main skills, but also help balance the characteristics if you cannot achieve at least 50% crit rate without third-party additions. If during a fight with this cone the value exceeds 100%, it starts to work a little worse. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
Max HP increases by 12-24%When the swordswoman spends or restores health, the crit bonus increases by 18-36% for 2 turns. The effect occurs once per turn. | A great free cone that gives significant stats in the form of health and crit dmg. As with A Trace of Bygone Blood, it can be effectively used to get the stat to the recommended value if you are unlucky with the lower stats in relics and ornaments. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 48-1058 ATK 21-476 DEF 12-264 |
Increases owner's damage by 20-40%. The owner also applies 20-40% damage to targeted enemies with a higher percentage of HP than the wearer. | The Swordswoman can potentially activate the second part of the passive if she takes damage from enemies more often. For example, she can be placed next to the Abundance support. The buff becomes especially pleasant at the last level of awakening. |
What relics and ornaments are needed
When choosing relics, it is recommended to give preference to sets that increase key characteristics. The tables below consider all sets or combinations that can be effectively used on a character.
Cavern relics
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: Increases crit. 8% chance. |
The best set that enhances key skills. Moreover, in the state of "Spectral Transmigration" the damage becomes even greater. Taking into account the fact that the ultimate gives the level of the "Syzygy" status, often activating or prolonging the state, the swordswoman at this moment receives an additional 25% bonus. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases max HP by 12%. |
Interesting because it gives health and even more crit rate than "Scholar". However, the latter buff may be less beneficial in combination with some supports, such as Sunday. However, if the threshold is still reached, the set will bring a lot of benefit. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases frost damage by 10%. |
A good set with bonuses to the ice element and crit. indicator. The heroine can realize the full effect, but for this she may need third-party increases to energy or speed so that she can use the ultimate as often as possible. |
Alternatively, you can consider:
- 2x2 mixes boosting ice damage, Crit chance и HP, if you lack the required characteristics. Such a combination will significantly boost the ice swordswoman, so it is used as a relevant intermediate option.
- Genius of Brilliant Stars. The option is situational, but if you use the signature with it, take Pela or Silver Wolf with the "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat.cone, then the damage will increase significantly.
Planar ornaments
| Set and its effects | Recommendation |
![]() 2 parts: Increases Max HP by 12%. If Max HP is greater than or equal to 5, Crit Damage of both the owner and their memosprite increases by 000%. |
One of the best sets due to the increase in health, which scales the swordswoman's skills. Even though the crit dmg may be in excess, the set remains the most versatile. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases crit. 8% chance. If critical chance is 70% (or higher), basic attack and skill damage increases by 20%. |
An excellent alternative that will increase damage from the skill, which is the heroine's main ability. However, there is a high probability of exceeding 100% crit rate, which will have a more negative effect on the final results than in the case of a crit. bonus. |
![]() 2 parts: Increases Critical Chance by 8%. When Critical Chance reaches 50% (or higher), Super Ability and Bonus Attack damage increases by 15%. |
A good option for increasing damage from the ultimate. However, this boost is less of a priority compared to the skill, and the set has the same drawback as the "Rutilant Arena". For this reason, it is considered last. |
Team Guide for Jingliu in HSR

In the team, Jingliu plays the role of the main DPS, as she can deal with enemies on her own. Her classic team consists of secondary damage dealers and/or supports who help with additional damage, various buffs, healing, and maintaining high survivability.
It is worth noting that healers are a priority over shielders, since allies lose HP anyway due to the mentor's talent, which makes them vulnerable (especially in difficult and long battles).
Which characters are suitable?
The following heroes are best paired with the Swordswoman:
| Character | Features |
![]() |
A very strong sustainer that offers optimal synergy: stable and good healing, high personal damage, HP increase. In addition, her signature cone is extremely useful due to the fact that it helps to gain additional levels of Syzygy. |
![]() |
A buffer that allows to deal true damage. At the same time, has a memosprite, from which the mentor will draw health to generate stacks. It also advances the action, but it is more difficult to control, which can affect the rotation. |
![]() |
The best choice for the support slot due to various buffs, including action progression and overall DPS increase. The super ability restores a decent amount of energy, allowing the heroine to ult much more often. |
![]() |
Both demigoddesses provide a direct increase in damage dealt to enemies, which will perfectly complement the swordswoman's own buffs. Accordingly, Tribbie will be more relevant in battle against a group of opponents, and Cipher - against single targets. |
![]() |
A representative of Harmony with universal bonuses that will improve the swordswoman's combat effectiveness. In addition, it allows you to quickly reduce the opponents' stamina bar, which will especially play a role in the mode "Apocalyptic Shadow". |
![]() |
An alternative support with action promotion if there is no Sunday, and the Trailblazer is busy with another team/is inconvenient to use for action advance. The girls' skill set contains other useful buffs, but the main nuance is the increase in ATK, which the mentor does not need. |
![]() |
Reduces a huge percentage of enemy defense and resistance to the attack type from the imposed vulnerability. If the swordswoman is in the first position in the team, then the Wolf will use the skill to cause weakness in the enemy to the ice element, which will add more "flexibility" to the team. |
![]() |
A budget debuffer focused on cutting opponents' defenses and removing buffs. With the fourth eidolon, it also reduces the ice resistance of one monster when using a skill, which will further increase the damage of the former Sword Master. |
Since the heroine is able to play in the same team with another damage dealer, she can also be teamed up with Castorice (Remembrance: Quantum), Mydei (Destruction: Imaginary)or Blade (Destruction: Wind). These characters scale off HP and benefit from interacting with the swordswoman, just as she benefits from them. In particular, they deal increased damage as their health decreases. However, such teams become even more vulnerable without a powerful healer.
If there is no Hyacine, to maintain the group's survivability through stable healing, the following Abundance representatives are used:

How Jingliu's Skills Work

The girl's skills are aimed at inflicting ice damage on one or more targets, making her effective not only against elite opponents, but also enemy clusters. The main feature of the character is considered to be the state that advances her action, increases critical indicators and allows you to use an enhanced skill, which is the main source of damage. However, in return, the health of allies decreases, which requires a more careful and attentive approach to the battle.
Active skills
The basic principle behind the skills is to accumulate stacks, which allows the girl to enter a strengthened state. During the special "mode", the unit's combat effectiveness increases significantly.
Shine of Truth || Debuff
Creates a space that lasts for 20 seconds and inflicts Freeze status on enemies. After entering combat, restores 15 energy, gains 1 level of Syzygy status, and freezes enemy targets for 100 turn with a 1% base chance.
While in this state, enemy targets are unable to take actions and take additional damage equal to 80% of Jingliu's Max HP at the start of each turn. Only 1 space created by allies can exist at a time.
Lucent Moonglow || Single Strike
Deals ice damage to the selected target equal to 25-50% of max HP.
Transcendent Flash || Single Strike
Deals ice damage to the selected target equal to 75-150% of max HP, and gains 1 level of the Syzygy status.
Moon On Glacial River || Explosion
Deals Ice damage to the selected enemy equal to 75-150% of max HP, also attacks targets closest to them, dealing damage equal to 37,5-75% of max HP. At the same time, spends 1 level of the "Syzygy" status.
Using an enhanced skill does not cost skill points.
Florephemeral Dreamflux || Explosion
Deals ice damage to a target enemy, amounting to 90-180% of max HP, and attacks targets closest to them, dealing 45-90% of max HP. Also gains 1 level of Syzygy status after hitting.
Passive Skills
The talent utilizes the main mechanic of the swordswoman - "Spectral Transmigration".
Crescent Transmigration || Enhance
Upon reaching 2 levels of the Syzygy status, enters a Spectral Transmigration state: another stack is granted, action advances by 100%, and critical chance is increased by 40-55%. However, in the stance, only the enhanced skill can be used. When performing a strike, absorbs 5% of max HP of other allies (HP cannot drop below 1).
If an ally takes damage or loses health while the status is active, 1 stack of Moonlight status is granted. Each stack increases Critical Damage by 22-44% (max 5 times). You cannot enter the state again until Spectral Transmigration ends. Syzygy stacks up to 4 times.
When Syzygy reaches 0 stacks, the swordswoman exits Spectral Transmigration and loses all stacks of Moonlight. Jingliu gains 1 stack of Syzygy when allies are damaged or their health is reduced 20 times in total. The effect is applied once per hit made by each target.
Leveling Order
Skill ≥ Talent > Superpower > Basic Attack
Skill is the main source of DPS. As a rule, it is the enhanced skill that is used, which does not consume skill points. After that, level the talent to get buffs and ult to apply additional damage to the area. Basis attacks are leveled last because they are used the least (or not used at all).
Traces
Overall increase in characteristics from upgrading traces:
- crit dmg — +37,3%
- speed - +9.
- HP — +10%.
| Crit dmg +5,3% (level 1) | |||
| Deathrealm: Spectral Transmigration state increases resistance to effects by 35%, damage dealt by superpower increases by 20%. | Speed +2 (A2) | Crit dmg +5,3% (A3) | HP +4% (A3) |
| Sword Champion: After using the normal skill "Transcendent Flash", 15 energy are restored. Using the enhanced skill additionally restores 8 energy. | Crit dmg +8% (A4) | Speed +3 (A5) | Crit dmg +8% (A5) |
| Frost Wraith: If the limit has already been reached when receiving the Syzygy status, the heroine's next attack ignores 25% of the enemy target's defense. | HP +6% (A6) | Speed +4 (level 75) | Crit dmg +10,7% (level 80) |
Eidolons
| E1 | Using an ultimate or enhanced skill increases critical damage by 36% for 1 turn and additionally deals ice damage equal to 80% of Max HP to the primary target 1 time. |
| E2 | After using the ultimate, the damage of the next enhanced skill "Moon On Glacial River" is increased by 80%. |
| E3 | Superpower level +2. Talent level +2. The maximum level is 15. |
| E4 | During Spectral Transmigration, Critical Damage increases for each level of Moonlight status. |
| E5 | Skill level +2. Max level - 15. Basic attack level +1. Max level - 10. |
| E6 | When entering the Spectral Transmigration state, the max number of Syzygy status levels increases by 1, and the swordswoman herself gains 2 levels of this effect. Ice resistance break in Spectral Transmigration increases by 30%. |
Jingliu's Best eidolons are E1,E2 and E4.
- First - increases the heroine's combat potential during combat by increasing critical damage and inflicting additional damage on the target.
- Second - Increases the damage of the enhanced skill if used after the ultimate. A great buff that is easy to activate.
- Fourth - Offers an additional crit dmg boost from the Moonlight status when allies take damage or have their health reduced during Spectral Transmigration, further increasing the final DPS.
If you are a F2P player who wants to use Eidolons to unlock the potential of your character, it is recommended to choose E1.
How to Play Jingliu in HSR

In combat, the heroine relies on her enhanced form, Spectral Transmigration, to deal increased ice damage to multiple targets. To enter this state, she must gain level 2 of the status "Syzygy" (max - 4). This can be done in the following ways:
- Using technique before the battle - 1 stack.
- Using normal skill - 1 stack.
- Using superpower - 1 stack.
- Activating Spectral Transmigration - 1 stack.
- Allies taking damage - 1 stack, but no more than 20 times.
The main goal is to enter the special state and stay in it as long as possible. However, it is important to consider that performing attacks in this mode spends not only the HP of allies, but also status levels. Therefore, you will need to restore them in time to prolong the effect of the enhanced form.
General principles for Jingliu's rotation:
- Before the battle, use the technique to create a frost field. Thanks to this, the former Sword Master will receive 15 energy, 1 Syzygy status, and also has a 100% base chance of freezing enemies.
- Use the skill to deal Ice damage to one target and gain 1 more stack of the status. Thus, at the end of the action, the heroine will go into the state of "Spectral Transmigration" and receive another 1.
- The status will advance the action by 100%, so activate the enhanced skill immediately after the transition. This will also consume 1 status level and remove 5% of the max health of other allies.
- Use the ultimate to deal increased damage from your ultimate and extend the duration of Spectral Transmigration (ideally so that the stack bar is not completely full). It is recommended to activate the ultimate while in stance to maximize DPS.
- Continue using the enhanced skill and monitor the number of levels. It is worth remembering that Syzygy levels are also given by partners when they receive incoming hits from enemies or lose health, which potentially allows the girl not to exit the mode during the entire battle.
Is it worth pulling for Jingliu?

Jingliu is a Path of Destruction character who specializes in dealing ice damage to single and multiple targets. Her specialty is the "Spectral Transmigration" state, which moves the action forward by 100%, increases critical parameters, and allows the use of an enhanced version of the skill throughout the battle (if the unit is in optimal conditions). However, the "nuance" is that this mode consumes HP of allies.
The former Sword Master does little to compensate for the team's lost HP, except that she does not spend skill points in her enhanced form and has good synergy with those who receive buffs from health consumption (Mydei, Castorice, and Blade). All this makes the heroine a fairly "flexible" partner, capable of being a hyper-carry or a secondary unit. But getting a well-leveled healer becomes a must in a team with her.
Overall, the swordswoman is quite versatile and can be effective not only against one opponent, but also against several, which will come in handy in the "Forgotten Hall" or "Apocalyptic Shadow". However, the AoE potential remains limited, making it hard to clear content like "Pure Fiction". The innate buffs allow the character to be built and used without much difficulty, making her a comfortable ice hero. However, she is still inferior to meta damage dealers and weakly competes with such units as The Herta (Erudition: Ice).
Which is better: signature or E1
If you want to unlock the character's potential to the maximum, it is recommended to getE1. The Eidolon increases critical damage and allows you to deal additional damage to the enemy without being tied to the number of targets, which is a strong buff. In turn, the signature is not currently considered the best option, inferior to the cone "Flame of Blood, Blaze My Path". In addition, among the cones, there are other alternatives, including epic and free ones.
We hope our guide on the mechanics of the great swordswoman in Honkai: Star Rail helped you put together the best build for Jingliu. Feel free to leave questions in comments if you have any difficulties choosing equipment or a suitable team so that the author or other players can help you.
